August Reflection + Prompts

A ceremony for worthiness and activation

August is a month when the year finally turns, and somewhere we take hold of our emotions and start living. Oddly enough, I begin to feel it before the season actually changes. It’s in the quiet pressure building underneath the surface of my breath, or in the tense holding of something I’ve kept hidden.

Worthiness is the word for this month inside our Spiritually Fly ecosystem.

I don’t believe worthiness is something you earn, and I don’t believe you unlock it by losing enough weight, healing enough wounds, or even collecting enough achievements to finally deserve what you already want.

Worthiness is a decision…period. A decision I make every single day, and most days it doesn’t feel like a grand declaration. Instead, it feels like getting out of bed and choosing to act as though I’m already enough. It’s me activating my body and hoping my mind catches up. It is massively unglamorous, and in those choices, it can feel heavy, and I have to keep giving myself permission to show up for me.

It looks and feels like coming into your body, placing your hands on your belly and chest, taking a deep breath, and doing it again and again, until you feel a warm sense of arrival in the heart where you know you are enough.

I spent more years than I would like to admit waiting to feel worthy before I took a step forward. There were moments where I waited until I had all the credentials, or even “enough people” saying I was enough to take up space. What I didn’t understand then is that waiting was not humility, it was a form of self-abandonment dressed up as patience. Every time I made my own movement contingent on someone else’s confirmation, I was quietly teaching myself that my knowing was not sufficient on its own.

Worthiness is not passive, nor is it a soft landing you stumble upon after you think you have healed. It is an active, daily choice we operate from, rooted in the belief that we are enough right now, in this moment, in this body, and in this season. The way we activate that is by moving from that belief, even when fear is present, when the evidence has not yet arrived, and especially when the world around us has not caught up with what we already know is true in our hearts.
